Chapter 402: King
Exactly two minutes later, Chi Lian rode out of the stables on the back of a horse that was dashing at full speed ahead. She was holding on to it’s back and laughing happily.
In her mind, she pictured herself as the heroine of a western movie o her way to fight the bad guys.
When the horse joined the racing track, it did not stop for a single second to take in the other riders that were riding for fun. It was as though the horse was in a competition with itself. It overtook all the riders and continued going, leaving them a distance away.
At the side of the track were other trainers, some of them were cheering on their trainees while others were engaged in conversation. A few groomers were brushing some horses in a grassy area in a nearby field. All of these people had a clear view of the racing track and they could not believe what they were seeing.
"Is.. is...that King?" one of the trainers asked.
"Someone is riding that mad horse, call an ambulance and clear the track." Someone shouted.
The manager of the track was relaxing up stairs in his office. Everything had been prepared for the day after after the lunar new year. All the horses were in top condition. He was looking forward to the annual start of the year horse race.
A phone call interfered with his relaxation, it was one of the jockeys telling him that someone was riding King.
The manager jumped from his chair in anger, "Who released that crazy horse? Call the fire department and the police. I am coming down to the track, do everything to stop that horse."
As the rest of the track was being evicted, Chi Lian was enjoying the thrill of the ride without a worry in the world. She and King had come to an agreement, a thirty minute ride for one packet of pet food.
From a distance, the trainers and jockeys had gathered with other employees to watch the disaster which they were sure was to follow. The last person who attempted to ride that horse had ended up with a broken spine.
