"That’s true," Chi Wei said, "They could claim that there is no way of knowing for sure whether she is drunk or not and they just repeated what someone else said."
A few sighs went around the room.
"We should talk to the waiters and waitresses in the bar. They can prove that she walked out of the bar with sound mind." Chi Rui suggested.
"I am working on that." Muyang informed him.
While others were worrying about that, madam An had an entirely different worry and she made it known. "What about your family, what are they saying about the situation right now? Your mother has been calling Nuo insistently since morning but Nuo refuses to answer her phone. She thinks that your mother is calling to call off the engagement."
Muyang shook his head and he replied, "I don’t think that’s why she is calling. My mother cannot make the decision about my marriage, only I can. And my grandparents have told me to make sure that I tell you all to ensure that Chi Lian shows up for the banquet."
"Does this mean they don’t care about the articles?" madam An asked him.
Muyang laughed and replied, "My grandmother said whether Chi Lian shows up sober or drunk, we are celebrating the engagement before the night ends."
Grandma An smiled happily as long as the engagement was not canceled and her grand daughter would have to face humiliation, then everything was okay.
