Chapter 346: A painting
Zhangye’s bandages were quickly removed and his new face was revealed. Most of it was still red and swollen but he was healing quite nicely and he looked like an entirely different man.
She was satisfied with the work doctor He had done. It was too bad that the woman was greedy and untrustworthy otherwise she would have loved to keep her on retainer.
"Do you want to see what you look like?" she asked him.
Zhangye was staring at her with uncertainty and that same old unwelcoming hostility she saw when she first met him.
"Who are you?" he asked her tentatively.
Seeing a strange woman and two muscled men in this room was bringing out his fighting instincts, this was especially because the man in black looked exuded danger so easily. Zhangye had met men like this before, in prison and in the army.
No man developed such a killer aura without having blood on their hands. Why was such a person here? Had the plan gone wrong?
"Oh," Chi Lian tilted her head to the left and then upright and she nodded. "I understand the hostility now, it’s because we have not met before."
"Who are you?" Zhangye asked again.
