Chapter 298: A coming storm
Muyang frowned heavily when she said it, it had crossed his mind and he intended to look into it tomorrow if there was no answer by the end of the day today. It never occurred to him that she would notice the hiccup as well and want to settle it personally.
However if she was truly right and someone was meddling then it had to be someone as equally influential as his grandfather and there were not many people around like that. If that is what was happening then it was better for him to look into things first.
"Maybe I should look into it first." He suggested.
"Why, is there something you are holding back." She asked curiously.
He shook his head and answered, "I am just trying to be cautious, we still don’t have many answers. Have you found what which women from families with some wealth gave birth in B city at that time from the list I gave you?"
"The list has been trimmed down to twenty; I am waiting to see which ones buried a daughter that year. I should have answers before the day ends. Your brother said he would give me a list of names before noon so in a few hours I should begin matching the information."
While they talked, their eyes did not once stray away from their daughter who was ripping apart an empty gift box with the help of the husky Popcorn. The loud sound of wrapping paper being ripped apart made Muyang wince because he knew once that one was finished, Mei-Mei would look for another one.
He was both right and wrong, when she was finished with that one; her hands went for the Christmas tree.
Muyang rushed over and forcefully carried her again. "No, daddy down." She complained.
