Chapter 249: Fainting in fear
The dogs dashed crossed the ice with Chi Lian screaming out of excitement. The adrenaline was pumping through her body like water being bumped from the ocean hard and fast.
There was a rush of endorphins which swept through her; she was getting that same feeling which she got after a run. It was commonly known as runner’s high.
"Ha-ha-ha, awesome." She screamed as she urged the dogs to go even faster and faster.
Yifei on the other hand was screaming out of fear, the faster the dogs went the closer her heart came to exploding.
What exactly was Chi Lian enjoying about this life threatening activity?
In her mind, Yifei who was a Christian recited many Hail Mary’s in her head, hoping that they would protect them from danger.
The sled hit a bump and it jumped up in the air slightly and Chi Lian’s screams got louder. She wished the sled would jump even higher in the air.
While she was at the maximum degree of excitement, Yifei was not, in this moment she was beyond frightened and she fainted.
"Host, your companion has fainted. I believe she could not handle this level of excitement." T4 alerted her.
Chi Lian slowed the dogs down and turned around to check on her friend. She could detect a pulse and other than that, nothing seemed to be wrong. However, she was not a doctor and she wanted to make sure all her bases were covered.
For all she knew, Yifei had a weak heart or some other unknown condition and needed urgent medical care.
