Chapter 232: Jokes and consequences
After scrolling through some comments, she changed into her gym clothes and quietly left the room because the children were still sleeping.
"Chi-Chi," her mother called her name boisterously and pulled her to the entrance of the house before she could escape to the newly finished gym in the house.
"What is it mother?" she asked curiously.
Her mother whispered, "Minister Su is here with some cows, he says they belong to you. Dear, why is a full minister of the empire delivering cattle to our house?"
Chi Lian wanted to say, ’mother, why are you whispering as if we are discussing state secrets?’
"Are the cows another gift from the emperor?" her mother further asked. "I have never seen a breed like that before." Her mother’s eyes were filled with wonder. "They are so big and the horns are so long and very pointy at the tip, I would not want to be an enemy to any of those cows." She continued talking, describing the cows and the vehicle which transported them.
"Do you know that they were delivered in an insulated vehicle, with mattresses down for the cows to sleep on? You would think they were transporting people, I have never seen cows as pampered as these ones." She said in a gossipy tone.
Chi Lian had to ask T4 about that later after all it was him that placed the order for the pick-up and transportation of the cows. But for now, she was in the mood to tease her mother. They had reached outside and the cows were being offloaded.
"Those are the cows Chi-Chi;" her mother pointed, "I heard you told the butler to arrange housing for them in the green house already. Why didn’t you tell me, I could have helped?"
"Mother, you can’t handle those cows, you are right about them being pampered, we have to scrub their hooves everyday with warm water." She lied.
"Eh," her mother looked at her doubtfully.
