Chapter 220: HTV plans to copy
Suddenly Chi Lian frowned. If there was one thing she absolutely detested when it came to her business, it was being blackmailed or someone behaving in a manner that screamed entitled. She had almost turned the princess away because of this.
"Miss Gu, if you think you can make it into my company by blackmailing me with whatever ace you have up your sleeve I can assure you that I will have you thrown out faster than yesterday’s trash." She warned Gu Xixi coldly.
After being with Muyang for a while, she had adopted some of his mannerisms. The cold look on her face was threatening and piercing.
Gu Xixi had been around enough boardrooms to know that Chi Lian meant every word she had just said.
"I did not mean to blackmail you, I simply mentioned that I have an ace up my sleeve, I certainly won’t use it to gain the job, I have seen what a position given just to shut someone up does. If I come into this company using such vile ways I am sure you will tell your people to freeze me out. I want to work here because you find me deserving of the job." She responded with unease but in a determined voice.
"Then give it up immediately, the ace." Chi Lian responded flatly, her face unchanged.
Gu Xixi sighed and said, "You either have a mole in your company or a blabber mouth. Before I resigned from HTV, there was a plan to launch two new shows. One of them was ’tea with the people’s princess and the other a cooking show where a celebrity picks one lucky fan every week and cooks for them."
Chi Lian found herself laughing mockingly. Not at Gu Xixi but at HTV. Could they really not come up with their own concepts? Tea with the people’s princess, how ridiculous!!! Everyone would see from a mile away that it was a copy and paste of tea with the princess.
"I assure you Miss Chi; there is nothing funny about this situation. They are pulling all the stops out, there is a rumor that they want to recruit Yan Daya as the host of the show. She is not called an angel for no reason; she is unnaturally beautiful, from a wealthy aristocratic background, owns a modeling company and sits on the board of many charities. To so many people in the empire, she has a better reputation than the actual hot headed princess. If they go through with it the way they have planned, people will talk but they will still watch the show. You will notice a significant dip in the ratings of tea with the princess."
