Chapter 182: Xunwai town.
"Welcome to Xunwai," a large black and white billboard with a picture of a happy family of four waving with broad smiles on their faces informed them that they had arrived.
At every side of the road were endless sugar cane plantations, so many that they could go on for miles. Xunwai was the main sugar production town of the empire. At the moment though, all the fields were covered by snow. Chi Lian was slightly saddened that she would not get to see all the beautiful greenery.
"I think it’s ironic that they welcome visitors with broad smiles when someone has just been murdered in their town." T4 said.
According to the system’s calculations, somewhere within a five mile range of this town is where the serial killer was residing. The killer who was named ’the sleeping killer’ by the media which according to T4 was a very terrible name grew up and lived here. The killer claimed the lives of six people each year in the capital by injecting them with air and dumping them in water.
He was always masked and avoided cameras so apart from his gender, nothing else was known about him. Even the gender was assumed from the large size of the boot prints found at two of the crime scenes. According to T4, the last murder usually happened around this time of the year so she had to get a picture of the murderer and reveal it before he struck again.
"It’s not like the citizens are to be blamed, they are not the murderer. Besides, no one ever dreams that a killer lives with them until he or she is caught." She answered.
"Still, I think its creepy and host, you should spin the wheel."
She often forgot to spin that wheel unless T4 reminded her. She accorded it to the fact that despite the many cool things it had to offer, all she ever got was food stuffs.
Reluctantly, she spun the wheel and crossed her fingers, hoping that she would get something good this time round.
