Transmigration: Lady Chi Woos The Ice cold Professor Jun

Chapter 156: Muyang can be shy

Chi Lian came out of the basement as if she had been down there the whole time.

"Mother," she called out, "I am hungry." She complained as she greedily made her way to the kitchen from where the tantalizing smell of food and spices was coming.

She found her mother stirring something in a pan over low heat. She went over and hugged her from behind. Breathing in that familiar vanilla scent of her soap, she could not help but feel grateful for her presence in her current life. Hearing about the plight of Kiki and her siblings had not been great. She could only imagine the misery they had endured of having hope for a happy loving family ripped out from beneath their feet like that.

"Mother, your little baby is hungry." She wheedled.

"So you know how to find your way out of that basement at last." Mama Chi replied sarcastically. "I thought you would lock yourself in there forever."

"Mom," she rubbed her face against Mama Chi’s back, "How can I stay in there when my mother promised to cook my favorite food."

"Huh, so you came for the food." Her mother said amusedly.

"Mmm, mom." She said childishly.

"Huh, this ridiculous girl, you should go to the living room, Muyang has been waiting for you a while now."

She loosened her hold on her mother’s waist immediately and looked at the closed door leading out of the kitchen as if she could somehow see through it with x-ray vision. "Mom, when did Muyang get here? Did he come with Mei-Mei?"

"Yes, she has also been looking for you. When I told them that you were in the basement they stood at the door for around ten minutes waiting for you to open for them. You should have seen them; they looked so pitiful when you didn’t open it, like a pair of abandoned puppies." Mama giggled.
