Chapter 150: Treasure hunting.
T4 sure knew the right words to say to get her heart pumping excitedly. Just mention words like sit back and enjoy wealth and she was in one hundred percent.
Well the mansion was not ugly; in fact it was beautiful, artistic and expensive. A part from the isolation, everything else was excellent. She made her mind up to stay but there was one person whose opinion mattered than most.
"Father, what do you think?" she turned head to look at him.
"I think it’s lovely, it reminds me of the old days." Papa Chi said. His eyes were slightly moist, looking out at the greenery as if it reminded him of a happy past. She wondered if he had ever lived in a place like this before. Papa Chi never talked about his past, all they knew about it is that he was an orphan and nothing else. Someday, she would ask him about it.
Looking at her brothers, she asked, "What about you guys?" If they did not like it, getting a place within the city was not impossible.
They all shrugged nonchalantly. They didn’t care where they stayed as long as the family stayed together. If they could live in the slum together, they could certainly live in this mansion together happily. Once more, she thought about the more exquisite houses and winced slightly, saying goodbye to them in her mind.
She smiled at the minister and held her hand out, "Then that settles it, we are staying." She said. "Can I have the paperwork?" she asked.
Minister Su’s assistant handed him some documents which Chi Lian asked papa Chi to sign on behalf of their family. If she signed for the property as Chi Lian, it would not be their family house, it would be her house and she didn’t want that to be the case. Having her father sign for the property meant it would be the Chi ancestral home forever unless someone in the family committed treason.
"Why is this place isolated? We passed by other places and they are occupied, well-built and luxurious. Why not this place?"
