Chapter 106: A tiny paradise
The wonderful smell of the flowers was the very first sign to alert them of their arrival at the Changang flower fields.
The second sign was the large number of kites flying high in the air and the beautiful laughter of children. No matter what time of the day it was, someone was always having a picnic near the fields.
A lot of couples were sitting in the assigned sitting areas on their picnic blankets and sharing glasses of wine and other snacks.
"It really is beautiful here." Chi Lian commented as she exited the car. She stopped to smell the flowers and take a couple of selfies.
"Of course it is, this is the second best scenery in the empire." Xue Lili stated. She also rolled her eyes because she could not understand why Chi Lian was acting as if she had never been here before.
Little did she know that the Chi Lian in her presence had really never been to the Changang flower fields before.
"What is the place with the best scenery in the empire?" Chi Lian asked.
"The dragon waterfalls in the capital, Chi Lian are you getting amnesia?" her friend asked.
"No, I just haven’t been myself in the last few years. You know what happened in my life, I had a child, my family lost its fortune, we lived hand to mouth in the slums. I did not have time to keep up with the changes in the best scenery locations around the empire." She lied.
Xue Lili’s face went from confusion and curiosity to sorrow.
"Come on, stop dilly dallying, we have a lot to do and so little time to accomplish our mission." He Weili shouted at them like a couple of misbehaving kids.
