Chapter 250
To say Karl was sick of shopping by the time we returned to the hotel would be one of the greatest possible understatements. The final straw was when we visited the Succubus fashion section of a particular clothing store. I thought the entertainment would help his mood, but it backfired in spectacular fashion.
Because he’d closed the mind link between us, I had misjudged the reason he wanted to go back to the hotel. It wasn’t boredom.
Suffice to say, if the place weren’t run by a Succubus we’d never be allowed back.
When we returned we discovered that the hotel has secretly spread the word that a new Bunny champion has appeared, reaching Condensation Realm, which so few of the species do, and what looks like every Bunny and rabbit type Demon in the city has gathered in the meeting hall for tonight’s party.
We’ve all freshened up and changed into our party wear when the staff comes to tell us everythung is ready. Karl picks up Lala while Lelou blindfolds her before the Bunny can realize she’s been tricked.
"Relax, it’s more fun if the present from the Demon Queen is a surprise. You’ll enjoy it I promise." Lelou laughs as the bunny’s ears twitch in annoyance. The ears tell all, bunnies are entirely incapable of hiding their emotions without a hat.
Hui’Jin goes ahead of the group to get everyone to be silent until we’re in the room. It’s not very successful, there’s lots of giggles and happy bunny noises, but it’s the thought that counts. Every step we take towards the conference room Lala gets a bigger and bigger smile until finally we’re at the doors and Hui’Jin gives the signal to welcome her.
Lelou pulls the blindfold off and everyone shouts in unison. "Congratulations Lala, the Strongest Bunny On Earth."
She squirms out of Karl’s arms and the whole room turns into a hug fest. The demons think it’s hilarious, until they too are swarmed with excited bunnies. Even my Lycan nature doesn’t deter them, and Bunnies usually instinctively see us as predators.
