Chapter 235
I write up an amended agreement requiring that all items are decursed before being traded, along with a couple other conditions that have been written in along the margins of the original agreement and set it into the stack to be sent out.
That’s the end of the day’s work, and the Junior Priestesses are getting along fairly well in their tasks, so I head off with John and Princess Amanda for evening tea, leaving the Junior Priestesses under the supervision of Lelou, who seems to have infinite patience for dealing with unruly children.
Princess Amanda has become totally obsessed with Anime, enough so that she tagged my Suite as a transport location from her bedroom without informing her father, in order to obtain new series that might come out once things settle down in our world, so the talk over tea has turned to fictional characters, and where they would be in the cultivation rankings if Earth’s producers had known that cultivation was a real thing.
"I tell you, he doesn’t even have a core. Goku is definitely in the late Condensation Realm." Steve argues, intentionally getting the princess worked up.
"He can fly, so he’s got to be in the Immortal Realm and has absorbed his core into his Nascent Soul." She counters.
"But he’s lousy at flying. A young pup can manage that level of flight with just energy manipulation and strong legs. So he’s a Mortal Realm mystic type cultivator who does a little work with his physique."
That’s the point where the King steps in to end this circular argument, announcing that there has been a change of plans due to something that was found in the world the cultists had moved between planes.
According to him, Both Beta John and the King have been receiving an increasing number of messages from home, interrupting their vacation, so the group from the Divine Realm is leaving tonight, ahead of schedule. He informs both new and the staff that he does have plans to return to check up on the volunteers, and enjoy this hidden gem of a resort in the near future though. Nobody would think to look for him in a mortal world, so if he starts ignoring messages he could hide here for weeks before they find him. But the resort is the one place in this world that has sufficient quality energy to be comfortable to him, so it would be a rest and relax type vacation.
To say the girls are sad to see them go is an understatement. Causing trouble in a mortal world is beneath their dignity, so they’ve all been on their best behavior. Well, except Steve, but you can’t win every time. The hostesses might actually miss him the most though, a Divine Realm cultivator is an amazing partner for their advancement.
The King is definitely dragging out his exit as much as he feasibly can. We’ve ordered snacks three times, tea twice, and he already blocked one attempt to open a portal to his location, informing them that the location was unstable.
"As much as I’m eager to get home, I will miss your company, High Priestess." Beta John smiles at me.
