Chapter 229
The tricky part of this process comes first, opening up enough mana veins that these neophyte cultivators can start circulating mana to enough of their body to make the cultivation techniques necessary for the experiment viable.
Karl takes one, while I take the other. With my enhanced senses and ability to see the flow of cultivation energy, this should go much more smoothly than before. Even if it didn’t, I can likely repair any damage I cause and try again. The volunteer has naturally opened the path from her mind to her heart, which is enough to show potential as a mage. so I start from there, opening the pathways through all her organs, to her core, then down every limb until the entire body is opened to the flow of mana, or her choice of cultivation energy, were she not cultivating as a mage.
The process is quicker than expected and Karl is still working, so I take a while and clear the last of the blockages and pour just a hint of energy through her system to stretch the mana veins a little, saving her a lot of time doing it herself later. There’s a lot of lingering Divine Energy in her body, left from a lifetime in a Divine Plane, which should work out very well once we get to the ’feed her pills to speed up the cultivating process’ stage. Compared to Mortal Realm Cultivation Energy, Divine Energy is hundreds of times as dense, giving a reliable supply of energy for the process.
There is much more energy on Earth than there was even a few months ago, but I’m still limited to somewhere in the Core Formation Realm. I can draw a lot more than that in pure Death Energy to cheat the limits, but the planet certainly isn’t done adjusting yet.
I stop tweaking my test subject when Karl finishes up with his. He might have taken a long time, but it looks like he did an excellent job of it in the end.
The next step is to have Elder Song cast a memory transfer on them with all the essential knowledge. He’s written out a list of what they’ll need to know. Specific meditation and circulation techniques, mana manipulation, cultivation essentials, merging with and controlling their Elemental, how to Reinforce their foundation. That one is extra important since I’m going to be speeding up their cultivation by a lot.
With the list written and checked, Elder Song casts the spell on both at once, giving them an identical set of memories. I also notice that Hui’Jin looks startled, so he must have given some or all of that knowledge to her too.
The others will need a short rest to assimilate the flood of knowledge, so I pull Hui’Jin to the side to tweak and enhance her mana flow. Even if she wasn’t part of today’s experiment, she deserves it. She’s been a good and loyal friend, plus she enjoys blowing things up just as much as me and Karl. That’s a hard quality to find in a friend.
Compared to the humans, her mana veins are more easily cleared, and feel more flexible. There’s an odd reaction when I add hints of death and Divine Energy to expand them though, her body simply absorbs everything I send instead of circulating it. I can fix that though, it’s just a matter of volume. Increasing the amount increases the amount absorbed until I reach a limit and her mana veins begin to expand.
