Chapter 215
"I will start with the obvious question first. How did you come to be circulating such a unique form of internal energy?" Prince Ivan asks once we’re all seated.
"I’m not entirely sure, so if you don’t mind, I’ll give you a bit of back story?" he nods agreement and I consider what information might be relevant.
"I was born half human, half Lycan in a world without cultivators. The Black Dragon chose me when the portals first opened, so I’ve been cultivating Death Energy and converting it to a Lycans internal energy since Foundation Realm. Nothing unusual happened from then until Core Formation, so we can skip all that for now. That’s when I was caught up in a Divine Tribulation while helping a fellow Sect member repair their damaged cultivation." This news greatly startles everyone in the room, almost making the misshapen little butler drop the tray of snacks.
"You took a hit from Divine Tribulation while mortal and lived?" Steve asks impressed.
"Not directly, it arced to me multiple times though. I’ve got exceptional healing, even for a Lycan, which is all that kept me alive. That’s when my body started gathering Divine Energy. My cultivation speed and senses got a nice boost, but nothing too strange happened until I left the Mortal Planes to visit the Nephilim in the Divine Planes." The look on Prince Ivan’s face is becoming more amusing with every word. My story definitely isn’t going in the direction he thought it was going to.
"Oh, I heard this part already. This is the fun part." Steve says, settling into a side couch.
"Well, I was down in the arenas when the Titans attacked the city. The flood of Death Energy was pretty extreme and it forced me to break through multiple ranks of Core Formation. When everything settled out, my skin had changed to this vampire pale white and my eyes were Celestial black." I finish the short version of the story but the look on his face says Steve thinks the next bit is still important.
"You’re not going to mention the part where you can manipulate internal energy pathways? Or absorb Shadow Grenades? I would think those were important parts too." Steve says when he realizes I’m done talking.
"I was already like this by then. Though the feeling of my energy did change again once I reached Immortality while you guys were playing capture the flag, so maybe it is relevant." I shrug.
