Chapter 196
"What do you mean, I can’t open it yet?" Paula asks the shopkeeper incredulously.
"It’s a gift, Princess. Trust me, open it tonight with your husband and follow the directions. It’s a traditional form of well wishes among Lycans, a late wedding present from me to you." One of the guards has to stifle his laughter and I wink at him. Clearly he knows about Lycan or werewolf Mates.
"I’ll trust you then. I hope he likes it." Paula says happily.
We gather our loot, with a complimentary storage ring from the shop, making that three beautiful amethyst rings I’ve been given today to hold my goods. They give these rings out like shopping bags in this realm, I’ve even seen customers bring them in and set them on the counter to be loaded by the cashier, as if they were actual shopping bags and not a part of their daily fashion.
"Alchemy day tomorrow? We’ve gotten so many good things today." Amanda gushes with excitement.
"Certainly. I’m not sure where I’ll be sleeping tonight, but you can come get me in the morning. Dear Paula and Elder Brother might need a few extra hours sleep though, so don’t wake them up too early."
Paula blushes at my joke, and I realize that one thing I didn’t smell in the Crown Prince’s room when I arrived was her. Hopefully it all works out for them.
We all change in Amanda’s room, as it is closest to the door, with Domaya and no fewer than five other slaves to assist us. The two assigned to me have it easy, I am much smaller than the others, so they don’t have nearly as much to do getting my hair ready, and I didn’t need the help of a half giant to get my dress on, though Ahra is here and could have done it if needed.
I asked earlier what the uniform was, and the white stripe on a black background is for a personal assistant. Mine apparently, though I had intended for her to help Doosan with his work, getting her out of the arena and away from constant fighting.
