Mage And Wolf

Chapter 146

The date is set one week after Mica’s breakthrough to give time for all the full Priests of The Dragon clergy to come, as well as the influential Sect Leaders.

When they find out that Drakor has a new High Priestess, by rights ruler of their country, all objections to having a feast right after a festival are gone.

I’m a bit concerned about the location, but Mica assures me that holding it at the sect as neutral ground won’t offend anyone, as she’s not planning to rule the nation, just her own secluded Cathedral.

Two days to the feast, me and Karl are both feeling the incoming need to breakthrough. I can also feel a presence from the twin dragon totem, but I don’t think its gift will be with me this time. I’ll have to wait until I’m a bit more powerful.

I inform Karl of the fact, and we make plans to stay here as long as necessary, helping Mica get set up with a minimal staff now that any potentially incriminating documents have been searched and tidied downstairs. In fact, they’ve got everything ready down there, the two of them going all out to repair spells and replace essential items until the place is fully furnished.

Karl even made a replacement for our beanbag chair.

We inform Mica we will be in the much more secluded basement area tonight, and she smiles a knowing grin, offering to take the Nanny suite upstairs as her own to keep track of our guests.

They’re all doing fantastic. Very low on materials, they’ve all at least managed to create some of each of the requested recipes. Polymorphism, invisibility and grade 4 sensory enhancement that should, in theory, make their senses almost as sharp as mine for a while. Lacking only practice in using them.

"Two days to the feast, everyone. Tomorrow is a travel day, and you’ll be headed home after that, so write the name of one low grade mythical pill on this paper, and I’ll draw one at random for us all to make. Assuming we can gather the material, that is."

Everyone talks excitedly about legends, myths and even stories of the, no longer worshiped on this planet, God of Alchemy. After an hour, I hustle them along to write their desired recipes.

There’s laughter, giggling and serious faces as they place their nomination and I make a big show of shaking up the jar they’re in before having Karl draw a slip at random.
