Chapter 89
The Divine Fist is the talk of the town. Not only did they miss a day’s alchemy, but most of their daily fights, with even more disciples showing up with dried evidence of wet dreams on their clothing.
Both Elder Song and Sect Master Becky are highly pleased with the results. Elder Song has hidden himself away, saying he’s going to find a way to incorporate the relaxing incense that knocked everyone out right into the pill.
I don’t expect to see him for a few days at this rate, so I spend my day in peace, cultivating in this city full of varied energies.
Today is the day of my groups preliminary, with the very last set of groups. Elder Po tells me they put one Sect referral into every group, but 2 on the last day of prelims to keep the crowd interest. So I should expect at least one strong opponent.
I can feel my cultivation starting to bottleneck again, getting ready for a break through and I’m considering taking a Core Forming Pill to break through before the fight.
"Hey Elder Po. I don’t need to keep the level I register at, right?"
He looks me over. "Already? You know the most talented disciples take 2 years not 2 months to cultivate through the entirety of the Fortification Realm."
"I just don’t have that kind of patience Elder"
Everyone in the lobby laughs and Elder Ming waves me upstairs. "Go, break through and get to your fights on time"
The energy starts rising as I run up the stairs to Elder Po’s room, where I’m supposed to be staying, if I ever spend time inside the hotel and not outside cultivating in the fresh air.
I can feel the breakthrough starting, first reinforcing the Dragon Armor I embedded, which might currently be my strongest ability next to my claws, then flowing past it to remake every cell into a stronger version of itself.
