Chapter 25
I’m afraid to find out what he’s put in the box. Karl definitely has the wrong idea. Maybe I should ask? But do I want to know what he’s thinking? Best I just look inside first.
Inside are leather wrist and ankle cuffs, a leather mask with a mouth hole and top ear holes, but eyes blocked, plus an assortment of ropes and a few ’toys’ best left unmentioned. He’s definitely got the wrong idea. Very wrong, very very wrong idea.
"Lala, what did you tell Karl when you asked him to help? I glance at her embarrassed. "Your exact words, if you can recall. I think he’s got strange ideas of what you need for comfort."
"Um, let me think a second" Lala sounds confused "I think my exact words were ’Papa, could you help me? I want to make Kat’s room feel more like my old home’".
Moon Goddess, this could be trouble.
"Then he said, don’t worry, he’ll take care of it and asked if I had any special requests, so I told him about how much I liked my cage and my sleep hood and my patched blanket. I see the blanket here, but I don’t think he had time to make me a hood to keep the light out while I sleep."
Oh how wrong you are my precious bunny. He definitely had time.
"Wait, you call him Papa?" blurted out of my mouth before I could restrain it.
"Well yeah? Narishma told me that it’s a polite nickname for an older gentlemen when you want them to do something for you. Was she making fun of me again?" Of course it’s the vampire again. She delights in teasing Karl.
"Well, no, she’s kind of right. But that name is for a special man to you. Don’t just go using it on anyone."
"Got it!" Lala looks like she just understood a profound wisdom of the ages.
