Chapter 44: Ch. 21 Part 2
" Come and unpack the things on the cart into the room " YanZhi ordered before he went to seat himself down... Xiao Ling walked into the kitchen and fed himself a cup of ice water before taking out the tea set to make tea for YanZhi. He sat beside YanZhi and watched Yue and the Lu’s unpack the things in the carriage into the rooms, after they were done Yue led the horses and cart to the back. The Lu’s were stunned to see YanZhi took out ten to fifteen large jars from nothing, since they didn’t know about YanZhi’s space they thought he just made the jars appeared out of nothing.. they were shocked seeing that for the first time but they immediately got over it since they had seen strangest things around YanZhi.
It wasn’t because Yanzhi trusted them that was why he showed them his space, it was just that he was testing them to see how they’ll fair and if they would manage to earn his trust or try to betray him. YanZhi could wipe out their memories of things they’ve seen using his soul probing technique but he chose not to do so and test them first,
" Xiong Gong please help me with Yue to bring out the fruits from the inner room... and Lixin, Shuchang, Xiao Mi and Lan Fen help me bring out all the big basins from the kitchen and fill a few of them with water from the well at the back. " The Lu’s went to the kitchen to do what they were told and YanZhi and Yue followed Xiao Ling into the inner room as he opened the dungeon portal to take out some of the fruits for wine, he wasn’t like YanZhi who didn’t care whether people saw his dungeon or not. Xiao Ling would never show his dungeon to anyone he didn’t trust and YanZhi understood him, because the reason why he was careless was because he could wipe out the memories of whoever saw his space and want to bring harm to him (YZ) because of greed.
They took baskets and filled them with the fruits and took them one after the other until Xiao Ling thought that was right for now since the fruits were to be used for cold drinks and Jams, he thought he had to pick some more and to plant some using their qi which can turn seedlings into adult trees in minutes.
When everything for the wine making was set Yue, and the Lu’s started helping Xiao Ling in washing the fruits, they first started with wild berries... after washing them two to three times they chop them before Xiao Ling filled them in a ratio of one to two which was one part berries and two parts sugar since the wild fruits weren’t as sweet as the breed fruits in the modern world... he didn’t want the wine to be too bitter, he tightly sealed it and left it to strain it the next day. YanZhi looked at him curiously as he sealed the jar he walked to them and asked Xiao Ling.
" Wife are you done? Should I start aging it now? " he asked thinking Xiao Ling was done with the wine making process, Xiao Ling shook his head.
" nNo, after I strain it tomorrow then you can start... it’s not done yet for now " YanZhi nod and returned back to sit and watched them continued with the rest of the fruits which were wild plums, wild apples, pomegranates, wild peaches, wild strawberries and lastly wild grapes. By the time they were finally done the sky had already darkened and it was past dinner time, they quickly cleaned the things they used before the Lu’s left to their home for dinner... Xiao Ling didn’t make his mind to make dinner because they didn’t really need to eat all the time. Although both him and Yue weren’t like YanZhi who food, sleep and water didn’t matter to him, he just do all those mundane things because he wants to but Xiao Ling and Yue had been taking the fasting pills YanZhi refines since they take that in order not to feel the need to eat when they are cultivating.YanZhi and Xiao Ling were left alone in the house after Yue also left, they conversed about random things for a while before going in to rest.
The following day was the day when the workers were to start their training, Yue arrived very early when the sky was still dark... When she walked into the yard Xiao Ling and YanZhi were already up and straining the wine into new jars. She assisted them strain all wines into new jars before sealing tightly and YanZhi transferred them into his space to start with the aging, with three hands they finished early when the sky started to brighten. Xiao Ling made them some simple breakfast which was steamed buns with pork fillings and congee, the Lu’s walked into the front yard along with a new face when YanZhi, Xiao Ling and Yue were still in the process of eating. The Lu’s cupped their hands and greeted and the young man who was with them imitated their actions.
" Master your disciples are here... mistress, eldest sister Yue " the Lu’s greeted from YanZhi to Xiao Ling and Lastly Yue making YanZhi nod in satisfactory. The Lu’s stood aside and waited for them to finish with their breakfast, the front door was knocked and Lixin opened the door for Xiao Ling’s workers who started to arrive in ones and twos, after greeting they also stood aside for YanZhi, Xiao Ling and Yue to focus on eating. After eating Xiao Mi and Lan Fen took away the dishes to wash and clean the table, since they were Yue’s juniors it would be disrespectful for them to leave the washing of the dishes to her.
