Chapter 38: Ch. 18 Part 3
"Yue is here to help just sit and wait " he walked into the kitchen followed by Yue to start cooking... he let Yue get the fire starting and let her handle the cutting of the vegetables and cooking ingredients which needed to be dealt with.. he walked to where the fridge was kept and opened it and took out the rest of the milk and poured it in a pot and added sugar for taste, after boiling the milk for some few minutes he took the pot off the stove and transfer the milk into a clean bowl and put it in the fridge. He took another bowl and filled it with water and added sugar for taste before stirring it to dissolve the sugar completely before it also went into the fridge.. he washed the pot he used to boil the milk and brought it to the stove again.
Xiao Ling took out some few jelly fruits from the dungeon and washed then prepared a basin of cold water before cutting the jelly fruits and took out the seeds, he wrapped the seed in a clean cotton towel and tie the opening... he then immersed the whole end with the seeds into the basin of cold water. He took out some few wild strawberries from the dungeon and watched them cleanly cut them and took out the seeds he could before putting them into the pot... set it aside and went back to the jelly he was making he took out the towel and squeezed the towel firmly and called for Yue who he asked to rub and squeeze out the milky white pectin inside, after that the whole process was done. Xiao Ling carefully picked out the seeds which accidentally got into the basin.
Yue who was done with her side watched the water stay as it was making her confused of what exactly Xiao Ling was doing.
" Mistress is it done? " she couldn’t help but ask which made Xiao Ling chuckled before he knew she was still skeptical about it.
" Yes just let it set for a quarter of an hour.. then it’s ready " she nodded as he informed. Xiao Ling went back to the stove, took the pot of cut strawberries and put over the stove... he measured sugar and added it to the pot and started stirring and crushing the strawberries into fine pulps as he continued stirring non-stop, sweet fragrance started to feel the kitchen after the sugar was dissolved completely mixing with the strawberries as it thickened.. Yue who was by his side couldn’t help but swallowed hard drooling.
" Mistress what are you making? it smells nice " she said with her attention fixed to the pot to the point of her stretching her neck and watching inside carefully making Xiao Ling chuckled..
" It’s called Jam.. do you want to have a taste? " he asked as he took off the pot from the stove after it thickened to the constituent he wanted and Yue nodded as if she was pecking grains, Xiao Ling raised the wooden spoon took her hand and wiped the spoon on her hand making her beamed excitedly licking her hand clean.
" Mistress it’s really sweet... I’ve never heard anything like this " she praised making Xiao Ling laughed.
" Do you like it? I’ll make it using other fruits next time, you’ll get to eat them in different flavors " Xiao Ling pat her head like he’d do to every kid and said which made her smiled more.. he transfered the Jam into a small jar and set it aside to cool down.. he took the basin of water which had already turned into jelly, when Yue saw how it turned after it had set she was stunned. Xiao Ling cut the jelly into small cubes and transfered them into a clean bowl and put it into the fridge... after he was done with things for the deserts he started cooking.
