Chapter 36: Ch. 18 Part 1
Yue led Xiao Ling to all fruit trees one after the other she had seen on the mountain... she first took him to where he could get wild berries, Xiao Ling sighed regretfully as he saw a lot of berries on the floor under the berry tree. It looked like people here don’t really concern themselves with fruits so the fruits on the trees are left to rot and regrow years after years...
" let’s pick all the berries on the tree... it would still stay the way it is in my dungeon " he said to Yue and started to pick the berries using their qi... it didn’t take long before they cleared up all the good berries on the tree and floor leaving only rotten ones. After the searched again and saw a wild pear tree which they picked all the pears too from the tree... they did the same to the wild peach tree and plum tree they found and continued on clearing all fruit trees of their fruits which they found in their way, they concealed themselves with qi and went deeper where the wild animals reside in search for fruits.
Xiao Ling stopped Yue as he spotted the vines of wild grapes which they stopped to pick the grapes clearing the vines of it’s grapes. They found wild strawberries and cleared that too along with wild apples, Xiao Ling decided that was enough adventuring into the deeper parts of the mountain as it was getting near the time to start cooking dinner. They decided to return for now and come back another day, when they were almost out of the mountain Xiao Ling spotted a vine looking fruit which was familiar yet not familiar to him, he bend to and took hold of the vine and inspect it’s fruits trying to recall where he has seen it before.
His eyes glittered as he finally recalled which made him smiled brightly.. Yue was confused to why he would be happy over a vine so she walked to him to see what made him so happy, she stared skeptically at him as she saw what was in his hands and couldn’t help but ask
" mistress do you want to pick the medicine fruit? " She asked confused because there was no way Xiao Ling could get sick which requires him to take medicine... YanZhi can refine medicine pills for him and there was even no way YanZhi would allow Xiao Ling to be sick in the first place. Xiao Ling shook his head and continued to pick the fruits throwing them to his dungeon
" Yue these are jelly fruits.. they’re good things. Tho it’s use for medicinal purposes here I can use them for another purpose, don’t worry I’ll make them when we get back so you’ll see... I’ll make them into delicious desert " Xiao Ling said with tranquility but that still didn’t assure Yue as she watched him continued picking the fruits insecure.
After he was done they cut a lot of grasses for the horses and throw them into the dungeon before finally going down the mountain, they could hear some commotions as they got closer to the house. Seeing the villagers crowded at the house they only had one thing in mind and which was the Jun family causing problems again, ’ ah this people are so persistent ’ Xiao Ling thought and walked to the house in a hurry
" give way and let us through! " Yue shouted making the crowds startled before they made way for them through.
" Ah the broomstar and fox spirit are finally back! " grandma said pointing to them " since the head refuses to come out, the wife can give us the answer.. village head, ask him to give us answer for what they’ve done to my Xangren " Du Shi added with crocodile tears making the village head sighed. He was really getting tired of these people’s dramas but he couldn’t send them out of the village because of Xiangzhi and they haven’t done anything which deserved to be sacked from the village.... and if he ignores them too it’ll ruin his reputation as a village head making him loose face among the village heads of the nearby villages.
