Chapter 33: Ch. 17 Part 1
Doctor Shi and Jinhua stayed to chat with them for a while after Yanbei left.... they chatted about random stuffs laughing and cracking meaningless jokes. When it was 9am-11pm midmorning they all decided to head back to their works, doctor Shi and Jinhua went back to Huichun.... Xiao Ling and YanZhi along with Yue went to the market and bought some vegetables, pork meat, fish,red mung beans, green mung beans and many more. They head to the animal market after making purchases of what they needed from the vegetable market.... they first walked into the horse stables to check out the horses
" two gongzi... are you here to buy a horse? " one of the sellers was fast enough to approach Xiao Ling and YanZhi first making the others throw their hands and glared at him disdainfully.... YanZhi nod
" we want to buy three very strong and healthy horses and a bull " the seller beamed happily as if he had just discovered a gold mine after hearing that from YanZhi.... the seller stretched his hand making a way for them to follow as he led them to one of the stables he was in charge of
" two gongzi these horses are amongst the best I have " they were about ten horses in the stable which the seller led them to.... YanZhi walked closer to the stable and inspected the condition of the horses before he nod, he pointed to about six horses and ask Xiao Ling and Yue to pick one each. YanZhi wanted them to pick the horses which they fancy themselves as the horses weren’t only be used to pull the carriage... it was also for them to ride. And he was planning to buy one each for the rest of his disciples when they come out of seclusion.
" Xiong Gong you choose for me... I don’t know anything about choosing a horse " Xiao Ling hesitated and threw back the ball to him
" don’t worry all horses I pointed to are good horses... you just need to choose one from them " Xiao Ling nod when YanZhi clarified....he chose the only white horse among the horses pointed, YanZhi choose a black horse and Yue a red horse.
" this gongzi knows good horses... it’s fifty taels each " YanZhi took hundred and fifty taels and gave it to the seller who weighted it and nod with a smiling face " gongzi do you want to buy a carriage too? " the seller couldn’t help but ask knowing that rich people who come to buy horses buy along with carriage, but YanZhi shook his head and said
" No! Just show us to the bull " the seller said sadly before leading them to the bull stables.... a strong smell of dung hit their faces when they walked to the bull stables making Xiao Ling and YanZhi raised their sleeve to cover their noses and Yue took out a silk handkerchief to cover hers, they could use qi to shield their noses from the smell but that will also make them loose their sense of smell too... so they chose to shield their noses the human way.
" six taels for adult old bulls, seven taels for a year old bulls and eight taels for four to five months old bulls " the seller said as he motioned them to follow showing them the bulls.... after inspecting the bulls YanZhi pointed a young bull amongst the four to five months old and paid for it. YanZhi bought three well made horse saddles from the seller and had them fixed on the horse, after buying everything needed there the seller pulled the horses and bull outside for them... Xiao Ling and Yue couldn’t stay still as their hands itched to touch the horse which they chose for themselves, YanZhi shook his head at their childishness and slowly approached his horse which looked terrified and neighed at him trying to step away from YanZhi.
