Chapter 310 - : 310 : Ling Xinying V/S Nyxion Nightshade! 3
The colosseum was about to witness something truly special.
Both girls stepped back slightly, their stances shifting with clear intent.
Nyxion’s claws extended a little further, mana beginning to flare around her like dark crimson flames. Her golden eyes sparkled with excitement, but there was a new seriousness beneath the joy. "Okay... let’s do this properly. I’ll use my full strength now. I don’t want to hold back anymore."
Líng Xīnyíng nodded, her silver-white hair flowing as she dropped into a deeper, more grounded dragon-style stance. Ancient energy began to coil around her like invisible currents, her blue eyes shining with focused determination. "I’ll use my full power too. Let’s give everyone a real show!"
The air between them crackled.
Líng moved first.
She surged forward with explosive grace, her entire body becoming a living dragon. Her palm strikes turned into powerful, coiling dragon waves — each one carrying the weight of an ancient deity. The ground beneath her feet cracked as she unleashed a barrage of strikes that seemed to summon phantom dragon claws from the air itself.
Nyxion met her head-on.
Even while claiming full strength, she was still holding back significantly — her true power far greater than what she was showing. She blocked the dragon-wave palms with her forearms, claws extended, the impact sending shockwaves that shook the entire arena. Stone tiles splintered beneath their feet. Nyxion countered with swift, precise claw slashes — each one slicing through the air with enough force to cut steel, yet deliberately controlled so as not to seriously injure her new friend.
Líng’s eyes widened in genuine surprise.
"Wow... You feel overwhelming!" she exclaimed, spinning into a graceful aerial kick that whipped around like a dragon’s tail. The kick carried such force that the wind howled.
Nyxion ducked under it and replied with a series of rapid upward claw strikes, her fluffy black tail swishing excitedly. "You’re really strong too! This is so fun!"
They clashed again and again.
Líng poured everything into her dragon-style martial art — flowing palm strikes that turned into coiling dragon waves, spinning kicks that summoned phantom dragon tails, and sweeping leg techniques that cracked the arena floor. Her silver-white hair whipped around her like a banner as she moved with breathtaking elegance and raw power.
Nyxion, still using far less than her true full strength, dominated the pace without making it obvious.
Her elongated claws sliced through the air with terrifying speed and precision. Every block she made sent ripples through Líng’s attacks. Every counter-strike forced the Eastern beauty to retreat or defend desperately. Yet she was clearly holding back — her strikes were powerful enough to shake the colosseum, but she always pulled back at the last moment to avoid serious injury.
The crowd was losing its mind.
Commoners roared with excitement.
Nobles shouted in disbelief and frustration.
Líng laughed breathlessly between strikes, her cheeks flushed with exhilaration. "You’re incredible! I’ve never fought someone like you!"
Nyxion giggled, fangs glinting as she parried another dragon-wave palm. "You’re amazing too! Your dragon style is so pretty and powerful! I feel like I’m dancing with a real dragon!"
They continued battle for long minutes.
Líng unleashed her ultimate technique — "Heavenly Dragon Ascension" — a rising spiral of palm strikes and kicks that created the illusion of a massive coiling dragon ascending toward the sky. The entire arena trembled as the phantom dragon roared.
Nyxion met it head-on.
Even while pretending to use full strength, her raw power shattered the illusion. She burst through the dragon wave with a powerful claw slash, the impact sending Líng skidding backward across the cracked floor.
Líng caught herself, breathing hard but still smiling brightly. "One more time! Let’s finish this with everything we have!"
Nyxion nodded, golden eyes shining. "Okay! Let’s end it properly!"
They charged at each other one final time.
Líng poured every ounce of her power into one last, magnificent dragon-style combination — palms, kicks, and sweeping strikes merging into a single, devastating assault that made the air itself scream.
Nyxion met her with what she claimed was full strength — but was still only a fraction of her true power.
The collision was cataclysmic.
A massive shockwave exploded outward, cracking the arena floor in a wide circle. Dust and stone fragments flew everywhere.
When the dust settled, Líng Xīnyíng was on one knee, breathing heavily, her uniform torn in several places, but her eyes were still bright with joy.
Nyxion stood tall in front of her, claws slowly retracting, a gentle smile on her face.
"You fought really well," Nyxion said softly, offering her hand. "I had so much fun."
Líng took the hand and let Nyxion help her up, laughing tiredly but happily.
"Me too... Thank you for the wonderful fight."
The crowd erupted — commoners cheering wildly, nobles stunned into silence.
Mira Vale’s voice rang out clearly.
"Winner... Nyxion Nightshade!"
She waved happily toward the high gallery, her fluffy black tail wagging rapidly behind her, golden eyes sparkling with pure joy. Even after the intense fight, she looked full of energy — bouncy, excited, and radiating happiness.
Aiden raised his hand and moved his finger slowly to and fro, beckoning her with that irresistible, mischievous smirk that none of his wives could ever resist.
Nyxion’s face lit up like the sun. She beamed brightly and turned toward Líng Xīnyíng, who was still catching her breath.
"Ling... let’s meet after the trials are finished, okay?" Nyxion said cheerfully, tail still swishing.
Líng smiled warmly, silver-white hair slightly tousled from the fight, her blue eyes shining with genuine friendliness. "Alright. Don’t forget to introduce me to him later."
Nyxion nodded excitedly. "I won’t! Promise!"
With that, she turned and practically started bouncing toward the stairs leading to the highest gallery — her steps light and full of joy, tail wagging so fast it was almost a blur. The crowd watched in amusement as the fluffy black-haired girl made her way up, clearly eager to return to her Heart Lord.
She reached the gallery in record time, practically launching herself toward Aiden with a happy squeak.
Aiden chuckled warmly and opened his arms just in time. Nyxion landed lightly in his lap, beside Selvara, and immediately nuzzled into his chest, purring loudly.
"You did great," Aiden said softly, one hand gently stroking her fluffy black hair while the other rested on her waist. "I’m proud of you."
Nyxion’s ears perked up, her golden eyes half-lidded in bliss as she rubbed her cheek against him. "Did you see me, Heart Lord? I tried my best... but I didn’t want to hurt her too much. She was really nice!"
Luna, still curled beside them, giggled and reached over to pat Nyxion’s head. "You were so cute and strong! Your tail was wagging the whole time!"
Selvara huffed softly from Aiden’s other side, though her pale eyes held a hint of warmth. "Hmph... you looked decent out there. At least you didn’t embarrass My Lord."
Venya clapped her hands happily, wings fluttering. "Nyxion did well! Venya is proud!"
Nayla purred seductively, licking her lips. "Mmm... watching you bounce around like that was quite the sight. You looked adorable and powerful at the same time."
Nyxion purred louder, pressing herself closer to Aiden’s chest, clearly basking in the affection and praise from her family.
Luna leaned forward, wolf ears twitching with curiosity. "Nyxion! You two were smiling the whole time — did you make a new friend?"
Nyxion nodded enthusiastically, still pressed against Aiden’s chest. "Yes! She was so fun to fight with. We kept talking and laughing between strikes. She even asked me to introduce her to you later, Heart Lord!"
Nayla purred softly, eyes gleaming with interest. "Mmm... She must be quite special if she could keep up with you while you were having fun."
Selvara huffed from Aiden’s other side, though her voice lacked real bite. "Hmph... you were smiling too much for a serious duel. But... she didn’t seem like the usual stuck-up nobles. What did she say about My Lord?"
Nyxion giggled, tail curling tighter around Aiden’s leg. "She said he seems really special and wanted to meet him! I promised her I’d introduce them after the trials are finished. She’s super nice and strong — not like the other nobles who look down on everyone."
Venya rumbled happily, wings fluttering. "New friend! Venya wants to meet her too! If she is nice to Nyxion, she must be good!"
Vegia smiled shyly, hands clasped. "I’m glad you made a friend... She looked kind."
Aethoniel fluttered her wings softly. "She seemed gentle... I hope she’s okay after the fight."
Lysandra smiled gently. "It’s wonderful you made a connection."
Liana grinned brightly from beside Ela. "You two were like best friends already. You have to introduce us all later!"
Arisha gave a small, approving nod. "If she earned your respect in battle, she must be worthy."
Ela smiled softly, her amethyst eyes thoughtful as she listened to Nyxion’s excited words. "Ms. Líng’s family has always been friendly with commoners. That behaviour has made her and her family quite unpopular among most noble houses — including mine. The Voss family has never approved of how openly she mingles with those they consider beneath them."
Nayla tilted her head with a seductive little smile. "Interesting... a noble who doesn’t look down on common blood. She sounds refreshing."
Selvara huffed tsundere-style, arms still folded. "Hmph... at least she’s not as annoying as the rest of them. If she’s kind to Nyxion, then... she’s tolerable."
Luna’s ears perked up. "She sounds really nice! I want to meet her too!"
Nyxion bounced happily in Aiden’s lap, tail wagging. "Ling is super fun and strong! She kept smiling the whole fight and even asked about Heart Lord! I can’t wait to introduce everyone!"
Nyxion looked up at Aiden with shining golden eyes, still nuzzling closer. "Heart Lord... I promised her I’d introduce you. Can we meet her after the trials? She really wants to meet you."
Aiden chuckled warmly, continuing to stroke her hair. "Of course. If she made you this happy, I’d like to meet her too."
Nyxion purred louder, melting completely into his embrace. "Thank you... I can’t wait!"
