He who Bends Time

Chapter 74 - why space cheered

"These are my family... or at least what they used to be," said the Mother Crystal. Afterward, she fell silent, gazing at the numerous colored crystals for a few seconds.

Auran’s gaze stayed on the multicolored crystals for a while, but then his eyes wandered and locked onto the surrounding Blessing Crystals.

"So it’s your power that heals anyone inside the Blessing Crystal, right?" he asked.

"Yes. I’m a supportive-type magic user. That’s why, during the battle against that unknown being, I could do nothing but helplessly watch my family being defeated. I couldn’t do anything but run away," said the Mother Crystal in a somber voice.

Auran’s eyes once again landed on the numerous colored crystals. They were clearly different from the others—the light-blue Blessing Crystals that surrounded them. The specific thing Auran noticed was that they had a certain rhythm, like a faint heartbeat echoing from them. Their colors also pulsed—shining and dimming—like breathing.

"I assume they aren’t completely dead, right?" he asked.

"They aren’t. These are something like a beacon of reassurance. We Gungu’s possess a high regenerative ability, and it extends to the point where even a tiny piece of us can grow back into our full form. These pieces of crystals are from my family members. However, even though a great number of years have passed and I’ve waited for them to recover, they’ve shown no signs of regeneration at all," said the Mother Crystal.

"Have you tried any other methods to accelerate their regeneration?" inquired Auran.

"I’ve tried everything I know. But none of it brought any progress. Out of desperation, I began seeking help from others. To attract people of value, I allowed my own inhabitants to create a battle arena. I even made the arena more renowned and refined by letting the most powerful warriors reside within a specially blessed crystal of mine. This elevated the status of the arena’s champions and drew attention from many travelers across different worlds.
