Chapter 208
Rose chuckled at her imagination of water running away. "You have moments of being funny."
"Moments? I like to think I am funny all the time. Others just don’t know a good joke when they hear it to laugh," Zayne replied.
Rose wanted to tell him it was due to him being scary but she didn’t want to ruin his spirits. She made a mental note to laugh at all his jokes if she could recognise it was a joke.
Rose gazed at Zayne, knowing he wished to continue from where they left off when they had been disturbed. She tiptoed, trying her best to reach him.
Was it possible to grow taller fast so she wouldn’t have trouble reaching him? Why did Zayne need to be so tall?
As if reading her mind, Zayne lifted Rose to hold in his arms.
Rose clung to him, fearing she might fall though she most likely would not. "You should give me a warning."
"And miss the look of a frightened bunny? No. Are you trying to pinch me?" Zayne questioned, laughing at her failed attempt. It felt like a small bug having an interest in his skin.
"Yes," Rose muttered against his skin.
