"Indeed," Alex admitted without hesitation.
"Is that why you didn't tell me you were being bullied?"
"Part of it."
Zora didn't look pleased with the response.
"If I had told you, you would've intervened," Alex added.
"And that's a bad thing?"
"I know you mean well, Lady Zora. But there are some challenges I need to face on my own. You can't protect me from everything—and nor should you."
