Chapter 148
After being squeezed in the crowd of mages and knights for what felt like forever, Clayton finally managed to move freely once they entered the farming zone.
This wasn’t due to anything special—everyone had simply started to spread out, busy harvesting whatever crops they could find. Seeing that, Clayton wasn’t about to miss out and quickly joined in.
A wide variety of strange plants grew in the area, all of them looking exceptionally well-maintained—almost as if the land belonged to a master farmer. Upon closer inspection, the layout and agricultural methods used here were extremely advanced and could easily be worth studying in detail.
But Clayton had no time for that. He was too busy yanking herbs out of the ground. Caught up in the frenzied atmosphere, he rushed along with the others, matching their desperation.
Though he had a magical tool that could identify plant types, he didn’t even bother using it.
While fervently collecting herbs, someone suddenly reached for the same plant he was grabbing. Clayton scowled at the person, glaring hard.
Instead of apologizing, the man sneered.
"What’s the problem? Something wrong?" he asked insolently.
Clayton let out a sharp breath. He really wanted to teach the guy a lesson, but with everyone scrambling around like lunatics, he didn’t want to waste time.
With a cold expression, he released the herb and stepped back.
The man smirked, assuming he’d intimidated Clayton. He clearly thought Clayton was scared.
But Clayton didn’t care. He went back to gathering herbs.
