Chapter 144
That unsettling buzzing noise rang out again as it charged, making Clayton flinch in discomfort.
Even so, he quickly regained his composure and retrieved a vial of molten magma from his dimensional storage.
Splat!
The golem’s hand struck the magma directly, glowing red as it began to melt.
Seeing this, Clayton smiled in satisfaction—his efforts weren’t in vain after all.
Though the golem lacked any true consciousness, it continued its attacks with the same predictable tactics. But now, Clayton held a powerful advantage and could repel it with relative ease.
The battle dragged on, but unlike before, Clayton clearly had the upper hand. With each passing moment, his confidence grew.
Still, the strange noises emanating from the golem remained unnerving. Fortunately, the discomfort didn’t last long. With the help of the magma, Clayton finally reduced the golem to a mangled heap of metal.
Not taking any chances, he rushed over. He wasn’t about to repeat the mistake of assuming it was dead when it wasn’t.
He used every method he could think of to confirm its destruction. Only after he was absolutely certain the golem was truly gone did he let out a long, weary sigh of relief.
"It’s finally over..." he muttered, collapsing to the ground for a much-needed rest.
While lying there, he glanced around. The place was a complete wreck. Dingo and Gemma were injured too, though thankfully not seriously. They quickly made their way toward him.
