Chapter 88: Club Velvet (5)
As soon as Miranda and Rina left to go to the ladies’ room, Vincent leaned over and said, "How do you do it? Is it some new pheromone that hasn’t hit the market yet?"
Jack shook his head and said, "No, I wish. Then I could turn it off. Did you see those two girls earlier? The one in the halter top was literally humping my leg!"
"Oh, I saw alright," said Vincent. "I’m even more surprised that Madam Morelock didn’t kick you out. She is very strict with what behavior is and is not allowed from the girls. And what those two were doing was well out of bounds. I have never seen them act like that. Are you sure you can’t tell me your secret?"
"Dude, seriously?! If I had a way to just magically make girls want me, I could make billions selling it. Just think about it. How much would you pay for something that would make girls behave like that?"
"Millions," said Vincent with a sigh. "Millions."
Just then Rina appeared in Jack’s soul space, this time using parallel self. And just like Nora, she immediately got a cross-eyed look, wobbled, then shook her head and said, "Trippy."
Then she walked over and hugged Jack again. He could tell that she just craved the physical contact, finally being able to hug someone without feeling overwhelmed. He caressed her hair for a few moments, then she pulled back and asked where Madison was.
He led her to Madison’s office, then returned to his lab. As he walked away, he heard Madison begin excitedly explaining her setup.
Back in the club, he saw Wendy and Vivian approach, stopping just outside the invisible cordon formed by the VIP bouncers. The dance floor was almost full, the bar was busy, and he could see many of the tables on the mezzanine were occupied.
