Chapter 85: Club Velvet (2)
As Miranda dragged him out onto the dance floor, Jack noticed that several of the girls dancing turned his way as they approached.
Miranda didn’t stop at the edge of the dance floor but instead kept going until they were halfway to the center. The dance floor wasn’t crowded, so they didn’t need to weave through people to get there.
As they passed, the other dancers turned to look at Jack or Miranda. The men gazed appreciatively at Miranda. Most of the women look at Jack with some curiosity, but some with interest. Jack also thought a few women were looking at Miranda, either with interest or with jealousy.
As soon as they stopped, Miranda turned and started dancing. He immediately realized she was not wearing a bra because her chest was doing amazing things under her silk top. He just stood there staring, feeling himself grow hard, and wondering if he should just take her back to the hotel.
Noticing that he was just standing, Miranda caught the direction of his gaze and the smile on her already cheerful face grew wider. She moved closer and said, "Aren’t you gonna dance?"
"I don’t know how," he said. He didn’t. He’d been to a few school dances, but had always felt awkward and self conscious. Like everyone was secretly laughing at him as he jerked about spastically.
"Just move to the music," she encouraged. "It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as it feels good."
He started to move, expecting the same feeling of self-conscious awkwardness he remembered from the past. But as he moved, he didn’t feel any fear of being laughed at. He just felt calm, relaxed.
He also realized that he hadn’t felt any nervousness as they had approached the dance floor, only curiosity at the way the other dancers were looking at himself and Miranda.
At first he just bent his knees, twisted his hips and swung his arms, letting his body move to the rhythm of the music. Then, while he let his body just do its own thing, he looked at what the other dancers were doing.
In the past he’d been in his own head too much the be able to just relax and observe, too worried about what others might think of him to notice.
