For one full second, Isabella froze as if her brain had failed to understand the nonsense that had just come out of his mouth.

Then she lost it at once.

"You shameless bird!" Her face immediately burned red.

Her hand immediately reached for the nearest thing beside her, and without even caring what it was, she threw it at him. Thankfully, Osiris dodged in time because his body was fast enough to move before the object could hit him. The thing flew past his shoulder, hit the wall, and dropped with a loud sound that made the whole room feel even more ridiculous.

Osiris, who had clearly expected this outcome, laughed loudly and turned to run away at once.

He really did run.

He ran with laughter still in his throat as if being chased out by Isabella was the funniest thing in the world, and that only made Isabella even more annoyed.

"Get out!" she shouted after him.

Osiris’s laughter only grew farther away.

By the time he was gone, Isabella could only stand there shaking her head in disbelief.

Honestly, this man was becoming too much.

At first he had been rough, unreasonable, and impossible to deal with, and now he was still impossible to deal with, only in a different direction. He really did not know the meaning of shame at all. But then again, if Osiris truly knew shame, he probably would not be Osiris anymore.

So Isabella let out a breath, muttered something about how beastmen truly had no proper upbringing, and then finally turned back toward the bath.

The warm water was already waiting for her, and because her body had become heavier these days, even stepping in took a little more care than before. Still, the moment her feet touched the warmth, she felt part of the tiredness in her body loosen at once.

She undressed slowly and stepped into the water.

Then she sighed.

The warmth wrapped around her body so well that even her shoulders relaxed. The whole day had left little bits of soreness in her waist, lower back, and legs, and now that she was finally in the bath, she could feel all of it more clearly. It was the kind of tiredness that only made itself known once a person finally sat down.

So Isabella leaned back a little and started washing herself quietly.

The room became still again.

Only the soft sound of water moving could be heard, along with the faint crackle of warmth from outside the bath area. For a little while, everything felt peaceful.

Then she heard it.

A quiet slithering sound.

Very familiar.

Isabella immediately knew who it was.

She turned her head and looked back at once, and as expected, she saw Cyrus.

His lower body was still in his huge python tail form, and the soft sound had come from his tail moving against the ground as he approached. The moment her eyes landed on him, Cyrus stopped too.

Then he said gently, "The food is ready."

Hearing that, Isabella’s face heated up a little.

This was because her back had been facing him at first, and even though Cyrus was her mate and not some shameless problem like Zyran or Osiris, she still felt embarrassed being seen like this so suddenly.

If it had been any one of the others, especially those two, she would have already started shouting.

But it was Cyrus.

So her embarrassment did not become anger.

It only made her heart beat a little faster.

"I’ll come soon," she said.

Cyrus nodded at first, but his eyes did not move away quickly.

That was because the sight in front of him was too much.

Even though Isabella was already his mate and even though he had been close to her many times before, moments like this still affected him deeply. The warm water rose around her body, her skin looked soft from the steam, and because of her pregnancy, her figure had become even fuller and more curved than before. There was something so warm and feminine about the sight that Cyrus’s face immediately began to heat up.

He tried not to stare.

He really did.

But his eyes still moved over her before he could stop them, and the more he looked, the more his face grew hot.

Isabella noticed at once.

That only made her even more embarrassed.

This was because Cyrus usually had such a soft and gentle look in his eyes that she sometimes forgot he was still a male beastman at the end of the day. So seeing him react like this, with that quiet heat slowly appearing in his face, made her suddenly feel much more aware of herself in the water.

Naturally, that also made the room feel a little different.

Warmer.

Quieter.

And somehow much smaller.

Cyrus swallowed once.

Then, before Isabella could even ask why he was still standing there, he did something completely unthinkable.

His lower body shifted.

The huge python tail disappeared.

And in its place, Cyrus transformed back into legs.

For one shocked moment, Isabella only stared.

Then her eyes widened as he stepped forward.

And then, as if that was still not enough, he stepped directly into the bath.

The water moved around him at once, and the sound made Isabella’s heart jump so hard that she almost forgot how to speak.

"W, what are you doing?"

Her voice came out much weaker than she wanted.

But even then, she did not chase him out.

That alone already said enough.

Cyrus looked at her, and even though his face was still a little hot, the gentleness in his eyes had not changed at all.

Then he said quietly, "I want to help you."

He moved slowly through the water until he was behind her. Large, warm hands settled on her shoulders first, then slid down to the sore curve of her lower back with careful reverence. His thumbs pressed gently into the tight muscles, drawing a soft, involuntary sigh from her lips.

"The little ones are growing fast," he murmured, voice low and rougher than usual. "Let me take care of you both tonight."
