Chapter 684: The only woman I’m gentle with is Isabella
Everyone stared at Osiris like he had lost his mind.
To be honest, some of them really thought exactly that.
The whole room had just watched him pick up a healer like she was some misplaced basket and move her away from Kian’s side without even blinking. The action was so rough and so straightforward that for one full moment, nobody even knew how to react.
Yet again, it was Osiris and seeing the way he always got in trouble with Isabella always scolding him, it wasn’t so shocking at all.
Everyone was still sitted still and no one tried to help her, because even though what Osiris did was a bit disrespectful, it was even more disrespectful that a random healer had really tried to take the spot next to their King like it was rightfully hers.
So they all kept quiet watching but Ophelia was the first to recover.
That was because she was such a soft-hearted fluffball that seeing anyone get handled like that immediately made her chest tighten. So she looked at Osiris with wide eyes, pointed at him, and said, "Can you not be more gentle?"
Osiris looked at her like the answer was obvious, he did not even bother to act like he was sorry for maltreating a guest.
"The only woman I’m gentle with is Isabella," he said very naturally. To Osiris he did not think anyone else deserved his gentle side apart from Isabella.
Besides when they were on the mountain, he had left Isabella to do almost everything herself till he finally started catching up that he had to treat her with care since he had feelings for her.
The room went quiet again after Osiris’ words.
This time, it was not from shock alone.
It was because that sentence had landed in such a strange way that even Isabella herself looked at him.
If this had been a few months ago, Osiris would never have said something like that. Back then, on the mountain, he had been rough, unreasonable, and so wild that Isabella had truly suffered in his hands. At that time, she had done almost everything herself while he acted like some foolish savage phoenix who had never learned how to treat a female properly.
So hearing this sentence from his mouth now was so ridiculous that Isabella almost laughed.
Almost.
But she said nothing.
Because the moment she saw the humiliation in Zara’s eyes, a very wonderful idea appeared in her mind.
So Isabella slowly stood up.
That action alone shocked half the room.
Because she was heavily pregnant now, and everyone had already gotten used to watching her move more carefully. It was not that she was weak, but everyone around her had become very attentive, especially the males. So seeing her rise in this moment, after Osiris had already handled the problem in his own insane way, immediately made all of them focus on her again.
Isabella put on a sweet, pitiful expression and said softly, "Osiris, next time be more gentle."
The moment those words left her mouth, every single one of her males looked at her as if asking the exact same question.
Osiris gave her a look that said: Are you sure you are fine?
Because this was getting strange.
Very strange.
Still, Isabella ignored all of them.
She slowly walked toward Zara, who was still on the floor trying very hard to keep up her meek healer act despite the humiliation boiling inside her chest.
To everyone else, Isabella looked too kind to the point that it was simply too suspicious for them to ignore.
But Zara, who looked up at her from below, saw something else.
She saw the smugness hidden in Isabella’s eyes.
It was very small. Very well hidden. But it was there. And that made Zara’s hatred rise even higher.
Even now, even while pretending to help her, this woman still had to look down at her like that. She still had to stand tall and pretty and safe while Zara sat on the floor with all eyes on her. The humiliation of it made Zara’s chest burn so badly that for one second she almost lost control of her face.
Still, she held on. She had to.
Because if she broke character now, then everything would become harder.
Isabella stood over her and said in a very sweet voice, "Mira, there is no need to mind him. He has a terrible temper and very bad manners, so sometimes he forgets how to act around guests."
Osiris frowned at once.
"My manners are fine."
Nobody agreed.
Not one person.
Even Kian did not bother defending him.
That alone would have been enough to make Osiris feel wronged, but before he could complain again, Isabella was already continuing in that same sweet tone.
"You only came here to be nice, so there is no reason for anyone to be rude to you."
Every single person in the room went silent.
Because now this was becoming too much.
It was not weird for Isabella to be kind. That part was true. She really was a kind person in many ways, especially to people she cared about and to those who had done nothing to deserve her bad side.
But this? This was too nice. Too sweet. Too soft. Even Shelia was staring now. Even Luca looked confused.
Even Kian’s eyes had grown narrower because he was now almost certain that Isabella was doing something on purpose.
Only Ophelia looked completely moved.
Her eyes had already turned soft, and she was looking at Isabella like she had just personally witnessed an angel descend into the kitchen.
"Isabella," Ophelia said softly, "you are so nice."
That made Shelia look at her.
Shelia truly wanted to say, "Please use your brain."
But because the room was already strange enough, she held it in.
Zara, meanwhile, kept her head lowered and said in a voice full of soft humiliation, "Thank you. I did not mean to trouble anyone."
