Chapter 297: Borrowing Coco
The house, once silent, began to buzz with activity as maids and butlers scurried about, busy with their tasks.
The sound of footsteps echoed off the walls, the maids’ soft black shoes pattering across the marble floors as they dusted and cleaned every dust-filled surface diligently.
The butlers were equally busy, their footsteps heavier, but equally efficient as they cleaned and prepared the rooms on both the first and second floors, carrying furniture so the maids could clean where they were previously placed.
Coco stood by the front door, her hair still a little damp from the shower, but her appearance fresh and clean.
She was dressed in a simple cream-colored loose linen shirt and fitted black trousers, from the disheveled appearance she had earlier to a clean one.
The change was huge, her face clean and refreshed, her expression bright and cheery, her eyes roaming the space and observing every individual that would walk past her, and this time, it was apparent that she had taken the time to tidy herself up, her earlier fatigue replaced by an infectious cheeriness.
From where she was standing, everyone could see that she was being attentive.
Sinclair approached Coco, his strides even and confident, his expression composed, but there was a soft look on his red eyes as he looked at his master.
Zaque and the other three husbands followed closely behind him, their footfalls in sync with his.
There was an air of tension around them, each of them housing either a frown or a neutral expression on their beautiful faces, though there was a hint of curiosity as they looked around the state of their temporary home.
