Chapter 262: A decision over breakfast
"It’s nothing."
Thankfully, even amidst the confusion, Coco still managed to stick to her initial response to their question.
"Anyway, I’m taking Zaque with me." Coco was quick to stir the topic of the conversation to another direction as she resumed her meal, "Make sure to pack some clothes— or not, I could just buy you new ones."
Zaque and Quizen felt a feeling of unease wash over them as Coco shifted the topic of the conversation, but they didn’t probe further.
Something about her tone, the look in her eyes, and the way she avoided the topic made them hesitant to delve deeper into the issue— something that made them shiver in their spot.
So, despite the desire to understand, they refrained from asking more questions, not wanting to provoke her further.
"No, thank you. It’s fine." Zaque politely declined Coco’s offer of buying him new clothes in the main city, "I want you to focus more on getting your hunter license than buying me things that I won’t need."
"I’m pretty sure that you will need clothes." Coco rebutted with a raise of an eyebrow, "You haven’t said much about yourself, but I could tell that you were a nobility before you got trapped in this marriage."
Quizen and Zaque shared a glance, their eyebrows furrowing in nervousness, not sure where the conversation was going.
"Pretty mediators like you two need at least a few clothes that are made out of the finest quality of silk, cotton, and uh, whatever else they make clothes out of." Coco grumbled the last bit, feeling ashamed that she’s not knowledgeable in that area.
