Chapter 149: Lala’s worry
"Coco.." Lala mumbled under her breath, watching as her human friend harvested the fruits she grew an hour ago.
The garden fairy sat off to a random branch to the side, her small frame dwarfed by the towering trees around her with her eyes fixed on the black haired woman, who was standing not too far, her form carefully plucking ripe bananas from the tree.
Coco had kicked down the tree in half because a banana tree could only grow its fruit once in its lifetime before it starts to die.
The little fairy could only watch as her human friend moved swiftly through the groups of fruits she grew, her nimble fingers picking and gathering the fruit.
However, despite the ease and grace with which Coco worked, she couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness as she watched— noticing how stiff and tense the atmosphere was around Coco.
Ever since the dinner at Jacques’ and Renaldo’s house, there was this distant look in her eyes.
It didn’t help the fact that Coco’s behavior had a sudden shift, the smiles and laughs she would normally offer to her were nowhere to be heard and seen, the blank expression and monotonous tone was the only thing Lala had heard and seen from her friend.
"I don’t get it.." Lala frowned and looked away from Coco, "The food Jacques cooked tasted good and the drink was sweet, too.."
She started biting down on her lower lip, her frown deepening.
