Chapter 31: Planting seeds
Coco had chosen a small clearing in the mountain forest for her lettuce garden, a spot where the sun shone through the trees, illuminating the area and providing enough light for the leafy vegetable to grow.
She knelt in the soft loamy soil, the dirt clinging to her fingers as she worked to plant the lettuce seedling.
The trees around her were proud and tall, their sturdy trunks providing a bit of shelter from the wind and the sunlight. She hummed softly to herself as she worked, the forest feeling very much alive around her.
Her hands were covered in dirt, her sleeves rolled up to reveal her toned forearms and biceps. She knelt on the soft forest floor, her fingers carefully planting small lettuce seedlings into the ground.
Thanks to her [Green Fingers] skill, the soil turned damp the moment she started digging, making it the perfect environment for the lettuce to grow in.
The air was heavy with the scent of leaves and damp earth, filling her nostrils with refreshing forest scents, the morning sun filtering through the trees and dappling the forest floor with small patches of light.
After the lettuce seeds were planted, Coco turned her attention to the radish seedlings.
She picked up one of the small radish bulbs, its smooth skin cool to the touch. Holding it gently, she used her fingers to break up the hard soil, creating a small hole just big enough for the bulb.
She tenderly and meticulously placed each little bulb into the soil, carefully dropping the radish into the hole, making sure it was planted at the proper depth, then she packed the soil around them with a careful touch, softly patting the earth down to keep them in place.
