Chapter 16: Off to the town
"Ha! I'm thankful for these skills, but isn't this too good to be true and to be mine, Lulu?!" Coco screamed out, facing the sky with clenched fists.
She hope so bad that the fairy will hear her whines or complaints because being bestowed by great skills sounds troublesome for her. What if she needs to offer something great and big to the cruel fairy in exchange for the skills?
She was an overachiever in her past life. She would always aim for the highest scores in every class, always on the roll call for honored students and she was about to graduate under the dean's list because she wanted to be the best.
Now that she knows she has these kinds of cheat skills, who knows how greedy and selfish she might become. She's afraid of herself because she knows that human greed knows no bounds and she's just a human, too.
I'm praying that I won't be too greedy when it comes to something.. I might be digging my own grave if I became unaware of my selfish desires. She let out a sigh and sat up, she scratched the back of her head and glared at the ground once she realized how scary it is to be blinded with greed.
I know that I can't be greedy at times, especially if it's about something I really want. Coco thought, her heart dropping to her stomach at how scary human can be when it comes to their desires.
She did desired something once and it didn't end well for her.
Seeing the downcast look on her human friend, Lala decides to chear Coco up. She flew in front of Coco and beamed at her, smiling reassuringly and brightly.
"I don't know what skills you received, but I'm sure sister Lulu gave those to you because you deserve it!" The sweet and loving fairy comforted Coco without knowing what kind of inner turmoil she's experiencing right now.
