Chen Ziyao mumbled quietly, turning around and preparing to leave, with his arm around Yu Jingting’s shoulder.

From a distance, his father saw his youngest son coming out of the station with a group of people.

"Stop!" his father called out, "Ziyao, who’s that with you?"

His voice, though not loud, had a lilt that made it hard to ignore.

Suizi’s family turned at the sound.

Up ahead, an older man in a suit with an immaculate stand-up collar was scowling. He was slightly short, wore wire-rimmed glasses, and his face was free of any wrinkles. His eyebrows were furrowed deeply over stern eyes, and his shoes were so well-polished they’d cause a fly to slip.

Wang Cuihua had never seen anyone quite like him before. He seemed overly fussy.

"He’s at risk of heat rash in that getup," Yu Jingting commented to Suizi.

Suizi nodded in agreement.

The man had an air of arrogance about him that made Suizi uncomfortable; he seemed like the type of person she couldn’t become friends with.
