Chapter 418: You must be the reason she left
Leo finally got to understand Alice’s reaction and why she was acting that way. So, it turned out like this, huh?
He had his own suspicion but he believed finding it out for herself was the best.
And the evidence has suddenly presented itself.
"Alice, what did you just say?" Miss Stella asked and rushed in. "Are you mistaking something?" She asked but one look at the expression on Alice’s face told her that she was being serious.
Would she joke about such a thing? Her mother had died years ago, so she might’ve mistaken it but that certainty on her face made her doubt that this was a mistake.
Then...
"I need answers, Miss Stella." Alice said and showed her the locket. "Is this your sister?" She asked and Miss Stella looked at the locket.
She knew the person inside the locket because she was the one who put the picture there and handed the locket to Philip who missed his mother every passing day.
She told him,
"If you always wear this then your mother will be nearest to your heart." She said. "Until the day you meet again, always keep this on you."
And that was why Philip never took it off. He sometimes looked at it when it felt like the image of his mother’s face was starting to fade in his memory.
And now, Alice was saying that the person inside that locket was her mother?
