Chapter 264: A panther
Nicholas’s eyes glowed for a second, and his mind told him to draw. He wanted to draw even in the dire situation of getting punched in the guts over and over.
He coughed and coughed, heaving for breath when he dropped his trembling hand on the floor and started drawing something on the sand.
’Draw.’ The voice told him and he drew what he needed at that moment. It was the one thing that would put him out of his misery.
The guys watched Nicholas struggle to draw on the floor and even laughed, mocking his foolishness. They kicked him, moving him away from the position he knelt to draw but he struggled and crawled back to complete it.
"Is that supposed to be a bird?" They laughed.
’Please, whatever... Whatever is going to happen, let it stop... all this.’
He drew the last line and then a notification popped up in front of him. His eyes widened as he stared at the blue screen that said,
’Congratulations, you have been chosen to become an Awakened. You have awakened as a B-class awakened.’
Just like that, Nicholas had become an Awakened. Why, though? What did he do that made him an Awakened? And why was someone like him chosen?
He was a nobody. He had no power, no motivation in life, no strength. Even his mother hated his guts, so why was he chosen to play such a big role?
