"And why are you so sure of what you’re saying?" Mark asked, turning around to face Devon.
"Because..." Devon smiled. "I have a sharp mind."
"Bullshit." Mark said and turned to continue leaving. "You’re just making all that shit up. The only real thing you’ve said so far is that I care for Alice and want to protect her. I refuse to accept any other words you’ve just said. So drop it and let’s just do as she wants."
Devon watched him leave and sighed.
’How do I know?’ he asked in his mind and felt his heart thumping. ’It’s because I feel the same way.’
Devon had a younger brother. And he truly cared for his younger brother. He would give his life for him, in fact. But that sort of care... If he were to compare it with the kind of care he felt for Alice or the type Mark was displaying, then they were two different things.
One had deep-embedded familiar feelings while the other... Romance.
