Chapter 119: Are you saying Devon and I had a thing in the past?
Mark and Devon watched the sky where Alice had disappeared into and then Devon lowered his head, walking ahead to where his guild members were gathered.
But as he walked forward, Mark dropped his gaze from the sky and called out,
"Devon Snow, did you ask Alice to give you her precious elixirs?" He asked and Devon paused.
"No," he gave a simple response. He didn’t argue or try to explain why she gave them to him because he didn’t understand either.
She initially wanted to give them to him for free, without asking for anything in return.
He thought he was selfless and had a good heart but compared to her selfless actions that evening and all the things she had done so far... he was nothing. And this, he couldn’t understand her good heart.
"I didn’t ask for any of it." He turned to Mark and added, "But don’t worry, I didn’t accept them for free either. I could never rest easy, knowing she has done so much for me, even when I asked her not to."
He turned and started walking away again.
Mark didn’t know if to believe him. Why would Alice suddenly take out her elixirs and potions just to heal a bunch of people she did not know? And she also exposed the function of her ring to him.
He had told her to keep it a secret but apparently, she trusted Devon.
But that was not what this was about. Why did she give up her elixirs and potions? And so many of them at that. They were all so valuable and priceless.
