Chapter 32 -: 32, Grief
On the 18th floor, Gura was sitting on the chief seat that her father used to sit on. Her eyes were red and tears flowed down her cheeks as the memories of her childhood resurfaced in her mind.
The still freshly cut corpses of her tribe members were scattered in front of her eyes. Deep emotions flowed into her heart causing great pain.
After grieving for a few moments, she stood up with determination crossing her eyes. She couldn’t avenge them, but she could at-least give the people close to her a peaceful rest.
Gathering some tools, she went into the pile of countless lifeless shells to collect the remains of her relatives whom she wanted to at least bury with a trace. Not like the others, rotting disgracefully in a pile of similar rotten flesh.
She quickly found everyone since all of them were present at this place. Then she began to dig the needed graves for those people. It took three entire hours to finish digging up the hard, almost stone-like dirt.
She then buried them all one by one as ten graves stood outside with ten sticks placed at the top instead of gravestones.
Gura sat in front of the graves clutching her knees. Her tears had already dried up, leaving only the tear stains and red eyes. She waited patiently for Dainsleif to come back. Her legs and hand muscles were aching terribly as she waited for an hour sitting there.
After an hour, sounds of footsteps wafted in her ears. She stayed calm and looked back to see Dainsleif walking towards her with a smile.
Dain looked at her and said, "Let’s go."
Gura stood up and walked close to him. When she was close enough, Dain broke a sky blue colored crystal and a temporary teleportation array appeared below their feet. Its light engulfed them and disappeared from the pile of already dried black flesh and blood.
