Dawn City’s old district, situated near the mountainside, was eerily silent at this moment.

Because this residential building was located in an insignificant fringe area, with neither military facilities nor granaries around, patrols and other people paid it little attention.

Without moonlight and late into the night, Dawn City was still brightly lit, but since this building was unimportant, only a few lampposts lit the surrounding streets.

From the excavation marks in the basement, it might have been around for a century; it was definitely not excavated recently.

In fact, the residential building above was built right on top of this basement, completely blocking the entrance.

In other words, this basement was a dead zone, disconnected from the outside world.
