Chapter 633: When Books Take Form
As they drew a silvery trail through the sky, Adam busied himself with the fire ravaging the western area of the palace.
Water jets splashed against the darkened wood, washing away the charred sulfuric scents and the green flames.
Fresh air began to filter again, but he couldn’t help but grumble in dissatisfaction at the sight of the empty armory.
"Hundreds of tier eight weapons, shields, and guardians gone... Sigh. This battle cost me a lot of resources."
Yet, he grinned and rolled his sleeves up as he dismantled the giant broadsword into drifting dust particles. Like the armory, the library had its own building towering in the middle of lavender flower beds. The floral blend immediately soothed his mind as if he were breathing high-quality incense.
"Smart." He whistled, praising the late emperor’s clever arrangement to help focus as he pushed the wooden door.
Forget about classic sect libraries, which were divided into floors according to the books’ realms, he only noticed two in the pavilion-like building.
Eager, he studied the forest of shelves reaching the ceiling, the books they supported akin to precious fruits in his sparkling eyes.
