I Refused To Be Reincarnated

Chapter 499: The Tempest in the Tavern

"Call Flintwaters and Sam before he kills James!"

The barman’s voice cracked in fright as he jumped down the counter, trembling and praying for their two most esteemed patrons to walk down the stairs and fix the situation.

At his command, the other outlaws dropped their gasses in a cacophony of noise and glistening fragments in their stupor and horror.

One, more stoic than the others, scrambled to the stairs. Missing a march, he tumbled with a dull noise before climbing on all four to bring the two famous pirates and save them from the monstrous kid.

Meanwhile, the kid’s eyes, void of emotions, glared at the gatekeeper.

"Come on. You wanted to beat me black and blue? Do something now that I’m here."

His taunting sent an icy chill wrap around everyone like a spiked blanket of dread prickling their sweating skin.

Then, his chuckle echoed, adding to the terror rocking their legs.

"Oh, sorry! It must be hard to talk without teeth, and when I hold your throat and life between my fingers. You’re lucky I’m good at controlling my strength because a slight blunder is all it’ll take for me to crumple you like the piece of trash you are."

He applied a bit more strength, causing James’ neck to produce gurgling sounds as proof, and noticed the deep regret hidden behind all the man’s fears.

"What was it next? Ah yes! Teach me a lesson about not taking pirates for fools. Let this one be a lesson for you not to provoke the one who’ll become the best mage."
