Chapter 1058: Singing (6)
Everyone thought that was a pretty good idea, especially Xun Hui, who felt that after so much had happened, it was about time to pay a temple visit.
The national religion of the Great Xuan Dynasty was Buddhism. There was the Dahuguo Temple in Beijing which had even helped Emperor Gaozu in unifying the land, so across the country there were numerous temples, all thriving with worshippers.
In Baihua County, the biggest one was Qinglian Temple, not more than seven or eight miles from the county seat. In fact, from Yang Ruxin’s manor, it was even closer, about four or five miles away.
Once that was decided, everyone felt much more at ease. Another round of firecrackers was set off, dumplings were eaten, and Xiaofeng, representing the Yang Family, kowtowed to send off the Year Beast. With that, the New Year celebrations came to an end.
Bright and early on the third day of the new year, after breakfast, Yang Ruxin left the house in the care of Du Yunpeng and the whole family set off in three packed carriages.
Of course, Shadow Seven was sent ahead to Xiaoliu Village. With the house having been empty for many days, someone needed to arrange for it to be cleaned in advance.
"Sis, you’re totally awesome," Yu Qingge expressed her utmost admiration when speaking of Yang Ruxin still being the County Magistrate’s goddaughter, "No wonder you’re the heroine..."
As for Yu Qingge’s sometimes erratic personality, Yang Ruxin was now quite accustomed to it and, therefore, couldn’t be bothered to engage with her.
"Ah, sis, it’s so boring just sitting here, why not sing a song?" Yu Qingge didn’t get upset when Yang Ruxin ignored her, and just kept trying to entertain herself.
"You sing," Yang Ruxin glanced at her, "Didn’t you learn painting and music since you were young?"
"Ah, I don’t have a single musical bone in my body. The reason I mentioned the piano... is because my brother is really good at it." Yu Qingge sighed, "Really, he even went to study at the Royal Academy of Music in England... I like to listen... My mom said when I was little, I wouldn’t go to sleep without my brother’s piano playing... And let me tell you, I can’t remember the lyrics to any songs, to this day I’ve only memorized the lyrics to ’Two Tigers’..."
