Chapter 394 Departure
After they had agreed on the plan, they started to prepare.
Gu Pan and her group had a small truck, which was perfect for transporting their belongings. They had loaded the truck that day and planned to drive it to the military convoy later, where it would be safe. Leaving it at home would risk it being stolen, or even worse, someone with a vendetta might set it on fire. The loss would be far greater than what they could afford. So, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng decided that once they delivered the truck, they would not return home, but would instead sleep in the truck, as it would be safer to keep an eye on it.
Apart from the essentials they carried with them, everything else was packed into this truck.
Previously, Gu Pan had also put everything that could be stored in the "Space" into it, especially the soil and flowerpots from inside the house.
In the courtyard, she turned back to look at the house, which held so many memories. It was once a proper little villa when they had moved in, but now it was a complete mess, all due to this damned apocalypse.
They were leaving again. After the apocalypse, they had changed locations countless times and left numerous bases behind. She wondered if they would ever return this time, or what the future held?
Her mind was full of questions, but there were no answers.
Lu Ruisheng put his arm around her shoulder, "Don’t think too much, as long as we are together, that’s home."
Gu Pan looked at Lu Ruisheng with a smile, "You’re right, let’s go."
The two of them got into the truck and drove off to meet up with the military, leaving the remaining people to gather at three in the morning the next day. They planned to leave while the base’s residents were still asleep to avoid causing them too much distress.
