Chapter 312: Fighting
Gu Pan and her group were numerous—her and her husband, Squad Leader Fang and Cheng Yang, Duan Shumei and Chen Lang, and Lu Xuerong, making up a total of seven people, divided into two rooms.
Gu Pan, Lu Ruisheng, Squad Leader Fang, and Cheng Yang occupied the last four beds in room 108, while Duan Shumei, Chen Lang, and Lu Xuerong took the first, second, and third beds in room 109.
They were quite satisfied with this arrangement; it was always better than having someone separated out alone, which would have made everyone uneasy.
The base’s Underground City really was like a refuge. The rooms for twenty people weren’t large, with bunk beds crammed closely together, without gender segregation as it wasn’t a place for long-term residence. In terms of seeking shelter, there wasn’t room for fussiness.
Though they had heard there were smaller rooms available upon request, Gu Pan and the others didn’t want to make special demands. There wasn’t much inconvenience, so they preferred to keep a low profile and stay with everyone else.
Gu Pan’s group had two beds against the wall near the door. Gu Pan slept above Lu Ruisheng, and Cheng Yang above Squad Leader Fang. Their four beds were tied together to prevent them from shaking.
The suitcase Gu Pan brought was full, but the valuable items weren’t there—just some clothes to divert attention.
Regarding food and such, she was afraid it would get stolen, so she kept it all in her "Space"—if needed, she would retrieve it without anyone knowing how.
They took out some belongings currently in use from their suitcases and bags and stored the rest under their beds.
After roughly tidying up, Lu Ruisheng and Cheng Yang went to fetch water.
